look at that view1/1/2021
FINAL DRAWING 1. Describe how you created an interesting point of view? Was it successful? Why or why not?
I created an interesting point of view by making it the point of view of an inanimate object that was my dogs treat showing the viewer how jimmy looks at his treat and if the treat could see jimmy about to chomp it down. it was successful and an interesting way of seeing jimmy, it was successful because it gives the viewer a point of view that isn't really seen traditionally. 2. Why is it important to understand perspective and how to draw it? It is very important when creating realistic art to understand perspective and how to draw it accurately especially when making art that is supposed to mimic real life. 3. How were the pencil and perspective exercises important in the success of your piece? the exercises that we did in class were absolutely crucial to my piece as i had to create an accurate and realistic floor and vanishing point because without those exercises i would've wanted to just create a straight on view of the wood floor which would look nothing like the photo and in turn would have failed my piece. 4. Describe the craftsmanship of your piece. What techniques were used? (How well the project is technically crafted). i used the techniques that i have learned in this class and from past classes i started by using a graph base of 4 quadrants to breakup the photo and get proportions right and then created a vanishing point and horizon line for the wood floor to get the perspective right and make a realistic piece. 5. Were you able to achieve depth by showing a foreground, middle ground and back- ground? Explain. yes to truly make my piece realistic it was important that i understood the separation of my dog, the wood floor and the walls surrounding but at the same time how they all work together and exist as one. 6. Explain your experience with using perspective and the project in general. What were the obstacles and advantages? perspective is something that is universally very hard to accurately achieve but my experience with it in this class was very pleasant and easier than expected. obstacles i came by were understanding the different points of view and how lines were important in creating different illusions and advantages i felt were the simplicity of the line and direction when separating oneself from the thought of the actual outcome of the piece. 7. Looking back on the progression of this project, what skills, techniques or other information would you like to have been taught? Do you feel you were prepared for this project? something i think really would've helped to have learned would be proportions vs perspective and how they coincide but other than that i feel we were well prepared for this project.

perspective unit10/20/2020 we followed along video tutorials on these two 1 point perspective drawings where we create a horizon line and make 1 vanishing point on each then create lines with rulers to get our outcome. we followed along video tutorials on these two 2 point perspective drawings both having 2 vanishing points each where we made parallel lines that correlated to each vanishing point which allowed the perspective to show through. we followed along a video tutorial on these two 3 point perspective drawings one being from birds eye view and the other being from worms eye view using 3 vanishing points in eacg drawing.

contour shoe and back pack drawing9/14/2020 this assessment was to contour line draw a shoe and a back pack which means i had to draw both a back pack and shoe with one continuous pen line and add enough detail for it to seem some what realistic.

blind contour/ moderate contour drawings9/14/2020 these assignments were to draw the contour of our hands in different positions in one continuous line of pen. the ones at the top were blind which means we were to only look at our hands and never at our paper and the ones under them are moderate blind contour drawing which means i could look at what i was drawing and look at my hand.

value chart and shaded shapes9/14/2020 the assignment was to use one drawing pencil to create a value chart that shows the range of shades one can make with one pencil, drawing with steady and equally hard force. the other assignment was to show the shade needed to create 3d shapes, the shapes being a cone, sphere, cylinder, and a cube. |
